As described before, first step was to try to reverse engineer the 3d models of Plastic's demo. Of course it was impossible to use that data for our intro, but I expected that having the models could at least help our artists to remake all the modelling (from scratch) more easilly. Otherwise they would have finished as tired of the video of Plastic's demo as I did :)

In the other hand we could also have tried to interpret all the .pa text files containing the description of the scenes, but we didn't. So, having the models helped us to position each object in the scene and create the cameras trying to match what we saw on the original demo (see first image below).

Manual object positioning and camera matching from a frame of the video distributed by Plastic and the
ripped models used as reference.

More on object and camera matching.

The model on the first scene of the demo. We found many surprises when inspecting the models of Plastic, and
this one was one of those. They modelled a complete face even if they just showed one of the eyes!

My favourite modell of the demo. Amazingly modelled, it was a real pleasure to be able to look to the details in
non realtime. So nice!

The background geometry for the "Lamp" scene (same as previous image). I used this one to recreate the primitives
by overlapping new geometry, so that I could easilly extract the position and rotation data. If first had to segmentate
the geometry (see the colors), since the original geometry was completelly modelled in one unique mesh.

Another surprise. The modell in the scene with the pink petals (scene called "Stone"). Even if the demo doesn't show
all the detail of the geometry, we were able to enjoy it. Very well modelled!

The elf of the "Techno" scene.

The "Wax" model, very nice one!

The bee. The body was One of the very few symetrical objects in the demo.

A closer view of the main statue of the "Techno" scene.

The mechanicall watch on the "Techno" scene. One of the more challenging modells.
